Denise Galbraith is a clinically trained Medical Herbalist, a graduate of the Dominion Herbal College (est. 1926) Clinical Herbal Therapist program. This program is four years in duration and includes in-depth study into physiology, anatomy, pathology, differential diagnosis, nutrition, chemistry, lab test result evaluation, and much more. Having completed 500 hours of clinical practice, she is fully trained in physical examination, recognizing the signs and symptoms of disease, and thorough interviewing skills.
Central to her education is a thorough knowledge of plant medicine. Denise has studied, and continues to study, hundreds of different herbs which have been used for centuries, even thousands of years by peoples of Europe, India, Asia, and North and South America. For environmental and practical reasons, her focus has been on Western plants; those available in this region, often found growing in our yards. In most cases, this empirical evidence on the therapeutic use of herbs has been proven in clinical studies, or is theoretically justified through pharmacological evidence.
In addition, Denise has written a thesis paper on Herbal Support in Drug Addiction and Withdrawal, attended a Cadaver Course at Bastyr University in Seattle, holds Industrial Emergency First Aid and Level-A CPR certification with St. John’s Ambulance and is a member of the Canadian Herbalist’s Association of British Columbia.
Truly a holistic practitioner, Denise is adept at gathering information from many sources in order to get the complete health picture, enabling her to make insightful recommendations and offer custom herbal formulas aimed at bringing relief, restoration and healing to virtually any condition.

Gary Prescott moved to Victoria, after completing a course in Acupressure, receiving a diploma from the Blackpool School of Massage and studying Iyengar Yoga for a number of years. He graduated in ’93 from Hellerwork training and knew that deep-tissue work was his passion. Shortly after that he took two courses in Vancouver: Craniosacral training with the Upledger Institute and Hanna Somatics with Graham Lynn.
A number of other interests brought a new way of working with and respect for connective tissue and the movement component of deep-tissue work. These included Tai Chi with Ray Sidwell, mindfulness and meditation from a number of Buddhist communities and a Tibetan Yoga practice.
More recently, he has been doing service work with cancer survivors and sexual and physical abuse survivors, which has brought a new perspective on the integrating power of deep-tissue work when coupled with a safe and empowering environment.
Gary has been practicing deep-tissue bodywork for 13 years, the last 2 years under his own banner of “GraceWorks”. Deep-tissue bodywork is great for chronic pain - as it releases holding patterns - structural integration, body-awareness, improved well-being and as an integrator/enhancer of other modalities.
